Idiot Wind
Hell hath no fury like Dylan scorned.

I woke up on the roadside, daydreamin’ ’bout the way things sometimes are
Visions of your chestnut mare shoot through my head and are makin’ me see stars.
You hurt the ones that I love best and cover up the truth with lies.
One day you’ll be in the ditch, flies buzzin’ around your eyes,
Blood on your saddle.
Idiot wind, blowing through the flowers on your tomb,
Blowing through the curtains in your room.
Idiot wind, blowing every time you move your teeth,
You’re an idiot, babe.
It’s a wonder that you still know how to breathe.

“My ass hurts”, complains Jackie Chan before final fight. Sitting through this endless yawnfest, I know how he feels.
Chan wears shoes in temple and pisses off a floating sadhu. Sherawat wears malfunction-prone ghagra choli and pisses off conservative aunties. In between East on East ignorance and BS spewing mystics, there are just two YouTube length scenes worth watching:
• Vintage Chan goofiness in glue factory (imaginatively named Raj Glue)
• Blink and miss Kalaripayattu moves
Two enthusiastic middle fingers.

Kandil 2
Our last kandil got poor reviews. It was booed at Cannes. The New York Times called it “amateurish”. Friends and family maintained disrespectful silence. Stung by this criticism, this time we bring you the classic. Happy Diwali.

Friday Tunes 11
Bhupinder Singh / Madan Mohan / Gulzar | Mausam | Dil Dhoondta Hai
Bhpinder Singh / Jaidev / Gulzar | Gharaonda | Ek Akela Is Shahar Main
Both songs by same singer/lyricist pair. Both sound a lot alike in the beginning. Not trying to suggest anything, especially about two under-appreciated composers. I just think it’s an interesting coincidence.
